Dear Friend, Don't cry!

This is a poem i wrote for a friend of mine who is so heartbroken. There's no way i can reach her because even the modern electronic contraptions like mobiles and laptops are denied to her. It’s sort of hard to imagine such things.

It's always difficult to mend a broken heart, but it's so much easier to have someone, to whom we could confide in , someone who can uplift us, or someone who will simply listen and care.

I truly believe that it's better for something to fail than to be ensnared in a painful situation that was never meant to be.

Don’t cry girl,
You will be okay.
I know the feeling,
It hurts immensely,
When people walk away,
When you need them the most
Don’t break your heart over things
That were never meant to be
I need to say this,
When the time is right
Now listen,
Life’s paths are twisted
People come and go
They are like migratory birds
Some leave their footprints on
For the tide of time to wash them away
But, when the path takes a turn
It’s all about new roads and new people
People change, their priorities change
So do you and yours
But, when they leave
There will always be someone
Waiting on the other side of the shore
For you to cross the strait
So now,
Don’t quit, not now
Know that, even in the worst of times,
Hope lingers!
Morrow, the sun shines again
To put an end to the dark hour
Hold on to your hope
The mellow rays of it
Will touch you soon
It’s only a matter of time.

The Prince of Darkness :)

This is a quite funny poem. I wrote it for a friend. It's about a dreamscape of an adventure.

Ah, It’s the time of the year
When the little devil comes for me
I’ll travel to the end of the rocky road
Where the fire bids bye to the day
When my yacht nudges the rocky coast
I’ll look for the white lilies
Moor my yacht to the west
And tether it to the scraggy old tree on the rocks
I’ll hide behind the niche on the big old rock
And wait for the darkest of hour
I know you will come when the lullabies cease
I’ll trace the line for the exiguous spark
I’ll watch for the silver line
And won’t blink my eyes shut
For I don’t want to miss the beauty
Of your expeditious landing by the rocks
When the breeze is redolent with the night bloom
I’ll see you coming in your blue broomstick
Wonderstruck, there I stand!
All I’ll see is your lustrous cloak
I’ll not see your face,
For it will be velvety black
I’ll no touch you,
For I know how cold you are
I can’t talk for you are lightening fast
You’ll lift me up so lightly
And I sit back for the jolly ride
Far across the mountains
Diving through the oceans
Woosh woosh through the clouds
Split splash through the rains
Riding through the stars
Going up and down the air
Swinging high up for the shimmering moon
Sliding through the Saturn ring
And vanish for the intergalactic ride
When the darkness fades,
Teardrops kiss my cheeks for I know
At the first ray of the morning fire
You will leave to cosmic wonderla
When I awake from my sleep
I know you will be far gone
I lie there in my cozy bed
Listening to my folks wondering
“Where did those lilies come from?”

The Flower Girl

The shadow falls
The road is empty
The rocks are like spines
They show no pity
But….
Before the black curtain falls
The street gets misty
Before the fogies know about the felony
And the grasses get soggy
I need to follow the stars
Get to the belfry
Forget the throes
Clean the frock so murky
And don the white dress
That makes me pretty
Adorn the blue baskets
And fill them with poppy
With a smile across my face
Sell them in plenty

pictures

Ok,I took this picture while on my trekking trip to Thenmala, predominantly a forest area, located at the foothills of the Western Ghat Mountains.
Like the flowing river....

The battle between your mind and your heart.

The mind can sometimes overpower the heart. Even if you desire something, or have feelings for someone, your mind can occasionally think differently. If you look closely at the interaction between your thoughts, emotions, conscience, and beliefs, it can clearly be seen that your decisions are mostly influenced by people that matter to you. Some decisions are made because you want to be in good standing with someone, and others because you don't want to hurt any feelings. Some major decisions are made because society demands them to be made. At times you may wonder, "where is the personal freedom?". One has to ask, how long can you keep your feelings, emotions, and wishes buried deep inside your heart? How long can you fool yourself, and make yourself believe that everything happens for a reason? Whenever you are alone or have the time to think about your life, your heart's desires creep into your mind, and you find yourself engulfed in a sea of grief.

Bringing the heart’s feelings and the mind’s logic on a single track is often an arduous task. You can even say it’s impossible to do that most the time. But, to make a decision, one has to feel that it is the right thing to do as well as it should make some sense. It’s always better to have a decision that is backed up by both logic and intuition. If it doesn’t feel right and only makes sense, then you need to pause and reevaluate the different aspects of it. It’s often better to make sense to whatever you feel is the right thing to do. It only takes trusting your heart a little more. But, the mind always demands proof for every heart-centered thought and you can never have a proof until you start doing something. The more you learn to trust your instincts, the clearer the little voices from inside becomes. Once you get attuned to your inner voice, the better your life will become. For that you should know that your heart is more than just a romantic vessel and it is connected to something bigger than you.

Everybody makes mistakes. Some decisions cannot be altered or undone no matter how hard you try. But if a person doesn’t learn from his mistakes he is just going to keep making the same ones over and over.

Keep it simple. Smile when it is raining :)

I woke up to the drizzling sound of the rain. I pulled aside the window curtains and looked outside through my squinted eyes. The glass panes of the windows were moist enough for me to draw a smiley face on it. :)

I leant on the sill, the cool moist air pleasant on my face after a long time under the blankets. I opened the windows to see my pots of little white flowers dropping water pearls.

The air smelled fresh. The smell of the fresh rain, the wet mud, the sight of water droplets dripping from huge trees and plants, everything seemed to be welcoming me to a beautiful season after a long scorching summer. I could hear someone complaining from the living room that it is going to be a gloomy day and how difficult it is going to be for some of the outdoor activities.

But, I felt good, in fact, really good. The smell of the newly fallen rain, the reflection of the sunshine on the water pearls dripping from flowers and trees all felt good, in way inspiring and evoked sense nostalgia. They took me back to my teen years when life was fresh, joyful and colourful on days like this.

All those days of finding ways to play in the puddles, wading through the watery country roads and lanes with no umbrella. Everything was so nice, sweet, romantic and innocent. How I wish I could go back to those times when rain was something to be enjoyed to the maximum.

Rainy school mornings were awesome with the expectation of knowing that we would get to enjoy the incomparable pleasure of puddle jumping and getting our uniform skirts and socks mucky by the water splashes from the vehicles rushing through the slushy roads.

I felt good, having enjoyed those good old rainy days to the best of my ability, although I could never have known back then that those moments would be cherished forever

There is no need to search for reasons to be happy. Keep it simple. Smile when it is raining. I love people who smile when it is raining. Do you smile when it rains? :)

Love everyone!
Keep smiling ! :)
