This is a quite funny poem. I wrote it for a friend. It's about a dreamscape of an adventure.
Ah, It’s the time of the year
When the little devil comes for me
I’ll travel to the end of the rocky road
Where the fire bids bye to the day
When my yacht nudges the rocky coast
I’ll look for the white lilies
Moor my yacht to the west
And tether it to the scraggy old tree on the rocks
I’ll hide behind the niche on the big old rock
And wait for the darkest of hour
I know you will come when the lullabies cease
I’ll trace the line for the exiguous spark
I’ll watch for the silver line
And won’t blink my eyes shut
For I don’t want to miss the beauty
Of your expeditious landing by the rocks
When the breeze is redolent with the night bloom
I’ll see you coming in your blue broomstick
Wonderstruck, there I stand!
All I’ll see is your lustrous cloak
I’ll not see your face,
For it will be velvety black
I’ll no touch you,
For I know how cold you are
I can’t talk for you are lightening fast
You’ll lift me up so lightly
And I sit back for the jolly ride
Far across the mountains
Diving through the oceans
Woosh woosh through the clouds
Split splash through the rains
Riding through the stars
Going up and down the air
Swinging high up for the shimmering moon
Sliding through the Saturn ring
And vanish for the intergalactic ride
When the darkness fades,
Teardrops kiss my cheeks for I know
At the first ray of the morning fire
You will leave to cosmic wonderla
When I awake from my sleep
I know you will be far gone
I lie there in my cozy bed
Listening to my folks wondering
“Where did those lilies come from?”
